Fabric shades are the most common lampshades, which may be the most reasonable price. Metal shades provide focused lighting, and have a beautiful reflection of the white color interior. Glass shades and acrylic shades will have stunning illumination through their bodies. Lampshade Size For a nice balance between shade and base, the general rule of thumb is to make sure the lampshade is twice as wide as the lamp's base.
